James wrote: Fri Dec 16, 2022 4:06:14 pm Voce is in an interesting situation right now.

Admitting and showing his social awareness... seems to be a way of him showing social awareness in this F2?

He's being incredibly humble and straight forward with his answers and his opening speech. Seems like the right approach to use considering the situation that he's in.
its refreshing but idk if it's convincing.. will depend on how steph approaches this too!

this is so exciting !
I'm impressed with some of his answers and like his approach. Him owning his mistakes is important and that's something I'd like to see from both players. As the jury we have the insight to their mistakes so we can suss out the bullshit if there is any. We all know they didn't play perfect games so if either of them come from a place of claiming they did it would be detrimental to their pitches.

Michelle your questions are awesome! Love the angles you came from and they feel fair and balanced to both of them.

Genuinely love all our questions so far. This jury is bomb as fuck.

Awesome questions Michelle.

I'm glad someone brought up the lack of communication. Steph seems to never text first (even in 40 many people, not just me, alluded to it as well). You always have to be talking with everyone in Survivor/Stranded, regardless if you're working with them or not. So I'm excited to see the answer to that question.

I think that's 80% of the reason I never worked with her cuz she never texted me first

Sneaky sneaky Mike, not only did you bring up the picture of Morgan and I you also made up a bullshit story of Morgan and I going for Steph? Well... I mean... I don't know if Morgan actually told people that's what she wanted to do but I sure didn't.

Oh well, extra props to you for orchestrating the whole thing.

Good starting speech from Steph. Not too much BS from her. She kind of answered my jury question but I guess that's what happens when you ask questions before they even post their opening speeches lmao.

ya even if i knew i was gonna vote someone i still liked to message a cute "morning, hope ur day is well!" at the very least lmao. the shorter timeframe/faster pace makes me more lenient with lack of communication but i can't ignore it now that it's final 2! I gotta know why i should still vote for her despite it.

we're just such an eager jury!! i'd like to imagine us on the island and as the finalists are walking in we start shouting questions at them. Dont even give em time to sit on their stump

That's something I'm (or we) gonna/should bring up during the live discussion. I mean I didn't think much of it as she didn't have much of a reason to talk to me but knowing you and Sydney and even others were probably not being talked to is a bigger social misstep.

This is why I asked her the question I did on my end - I KNEW she was rubbing people the wrong way with her social play early because that was the feedback I was getting from everyone. If I was always trying to message people first Steph was the opposite from what I gathered. Hali even referred to her as "bleh" in regards to having tried to work with her in 40. I'm not sure if my positive relationship with Steph urged Hali to develop a bond with her or Hali just did it naturally herself as I don't want to take away from Hali's social game whatsoever because it was dope as fuck to see - she was awesome. So yeah, Hali you can probably answer that - how much of your relationship with Steph stemmed from me advocating for her vs. her and you connecting and realizing you could work together early? The way she made it sound in her opening pitch is that her relationship was so strong with me that she felt like she got you by default because I wouldn't let you target her even if you wanted to (which is true, if you were to ever come to me with her name I would have shut it down right away).

:devil::devil::devil:

So yeah, you already knew about the photo which is all true. What I didn't know (and now I've gotta ask Hali this too) is that Steph went around telling everyone. Hali came to me like 20 minutes after I told Steph (which was weird) and was like "hey so I saw this photo..." - I assumed Hali had just seen it herself with the way she said it but I found the timing suspicious - did Steph tell you about the photo or did you really see it for yourself (I apologize if we've covered this already, it's all blurring together now). I had thought I did more spreading around of it than I did based on Steph's take, which again, impressive on her part because she wasn't even on Discord according to her pitch so if she convinced everyone else before I did it's a good job of lying on her part.

So I wouldn't say I necessarily made up a bullshit story about you and Morgan going for her - I'll refute that slightly - what I did do was take things you said to me and feed them to Steph to reaffirm her doubts towards you/Morgan. Morgan, to my memory, didn't give me anything nearly as direct as you did. She said something to the effect of "I don't want to be assumed to be associated with James/myself/Stephanie just because we played together the last time" and then alluded to the Steph vs. you two situation a bit from 40. You, on the other hand, told me she was good at finding idols and said something like "I'm not really working with her but I'm keeping her close because I know I can't trust her at all".  Neither one of you ever explicitly stated "I want to target Steph" but I did take things you said about Steph and let them get warped a bit to support what her and I were both kinda doing. That gave me the ammo (or so I thought) to start setting things up but it was really giving Steph the ammo to support the move she wanted as early as she did.

Knowing how much you studied and practiced for challenges, I'm more at ease with the move when it happened because I think if we let you get within that f7 territory you had a legit shot to win out.

Looks like Voce answered all of us. His answers were surprisingly well fleshed out so props to him. Might also slightly like his opening speech more compared to Steph just for the simple fact that she went the sad story route (yes yes get mad, I know how much everyone hates this hot take of mine of not liking sad stories/bringing IRL  pre game events into FTC). Although Steph did a wayyyy better job laying out everything perfectly.

Last season steph and I were on the last merge tribe together before the final merge/start of jury. We both had our own alliances and stories well before we finally met each other, so I think that's a big reason why her and I didn't connect much last season, she always seemed "bleh" and not wanting to talk to me (which is probably the experience James, Michelle, Syd, etc all felt this season). I was nervous to work with her because I voted her out last season, but mike you 100% gave me the push to create a relationship with her. I don't think I would've if you were as close to her as you were. But happy I did for sure!

I made a lot of mental notes before playing, and the picture of Morgan & James was at the top of the list lol. I was building up the courage to bring it up, and that's funny that it was so close to when steph did to you.

They knew what they were getting into when they let a novelist like myself hit jury. It's their own faults.

Voce's was better than what I expected it to be but I wouldve liked it more in the style of Steph's where I have a very clear understanding of the peaks and valleys in the game. I also wish he formatted his in a more readable way instead of just a block or text but that doesn't impact how I take it in. Steph's is nice because she even pinpoints the exact moment where things went downhill for her while informing a lot of the answers for questions we were looking for already. Voce's is nice because it tees up some really nice questions to be asked and leaves himself lots of room to deliver the answers he did.

Solid, but very different, opening statements. Nice to see.
